Culture Files (WT) (App Series)

Wagner, Pasolini, Beethoven, or Zarah Leander – we tend to think that we know everything about life, death and the artistic work of these cultural icons. But what are the true stories behind their legends?

“Culture Files” is a European cross-media project consisting of a documentary App, a 5×52‘ TV series and a series of graphic novels. Based on the aesthetics and storytelling of modern day crime drama television series it captivates the audience by exploring the unsolved mysteries revolving around many of Europe‘s greatest artists and thinkers.

Designed in the style of a graphic novel, “Culture File – The App” is devised as a Rich Media eBook. The App consists of diverse media formats like minigames, interactive animations, excerpts of the TV series, texts and music. Combined, they offer a new and exciting user experience. The aim is to take the user on a journey into the abyss in the lives of our cultural heroes and to ask the following questions:

Were Richard Wagner and his second wife Cosmia, the conspiratorial couple, a kind of gangster duo, the „Bonnie & Clyde“ of cultural history? Who was Pasolini’s true murderer? Has the Swedish film diva Zarah Leander been acting as double agent? And what secrets are hidden in Beethoven’s extensive patient file?

Each file can be enjoyed as individual App or in the full version, which will combine all five cases and will be available internationally for tablet computers, smartphones and as additional content for social networks etc. “Culture Files“ produces a shifting, kaleidoscopic impression of European culture to get a younger audience involved with some of its most important artists and thinkers.
