Open Heart

"Open Heart" is the story of eight Rwandan children who leave their families behind and embark on a life-or-death journey to receive high-risk open-heart surgery in Africa’s only free-of-charge, state-of-the-art cardiac hospital, the Salam Centre run by Emergency, an Italian NGO. Their heart valves, damaged and weakened by rheumatic heart disease, which develops from untreated childhood strep throat, leave them lethargic and weak. Some of the children have only months to live. During their cross-continental journey, "Open Heart" reveals the intertwined endeavors of Dr. Emmanuel Rusingiza, Rwanda’s lone, overworked public cardiologist, and Dr. Gino Strada, the Salam Center’s head surgeon. As one of Emergency’s founders, he must fight not just for the children’s lives but for the tenuous financial future of the hospital.
Wadan's World

Caused by the Great depression the modern Wadan wharf slithers into insolvency. Thousands of employees become jobless and shatters the whole coastal area. The film accompanies shipbuilders during a year and create a portrait, that illustrates the personal shocks of the abstract crisis sensible. The welders notice hurtfully: Harder like the work itself, is to loose it.
Arts Home is my Kassel (WT)

Arts Home is my Kassel (WT) tells the story of a culture clash happening every five years in a small German town with usually very little cultural exchange. The key art fair of the world takes place – the documenta. The people of Kassel see their town being invaded by a metropolitan elite with alienation but also with pride. Two sisters from Kassel follow their protagonists through a tremendous change of their lives in the summer of 2012 as well as an internationally recognized artist, making his way to Kassel.

In our cities traffic control is becoming increasingly complex. Globally we take more and more environmental risks. Our receptiveness is reaching its limit. Can a close look at nature help solve these challenges?
